#takeactiontogether Against Bullying and Violence at NASC.
Northern Adelaide Senior College students and staff took a stand for this year’s National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence last Friday.
The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence.
The morning tea event was planned by the newest members of the Student Voice Committee and featured an array of food, activities, and a positive affirmations tree for students to anonymously post messages.
“I think the event is a good idea and gives everyone the chance to find out who they could go and trust in having someone stand up for them in or out of the classroom,” says Jasmine P., a NASC year 11 student attending the event.
“I think a lot of people don’t realise the impact that they can have and that sometimes the standard you walk past, is the standard you accept.
“By saying No Way to Bullying means that you went out of your way to make sure no one is being bullied.”
Jasmine thinks that NASC’s firm stance on harassment and bullying has helped many of our students navigate and achieve senior secondary education.
“People at NASC are so much nicer and it has a lot to do with NASC encouraging self-expression and not being so rigid.”
