NASCafe bigger and better in ’22
Northern Adelaide Senior College’s NASCafe crew member Nicholas B., says that this year’s NASCafe on the HUB Rooftop has been better than ever.
Run by students from 8am – 1:30pm, NASCafe expands their café menu to include hot food, a range of sweet and savory baked items, and hot and cold beverages to suit everyone’s palate or dietary requirements.
The most anticipated item of all by students and staff: the EFTPOS machine.
“I’ve been a NASCafe barista since its inception last year,” says Nicholas B., NASCafe crew member, and Stage 1 NASC student.
“When we first began, we didn’t have an EFTPOS machine which was terrible because we lost a lot of potential sales.
“Last year much of the food also came from Food and Hospitality students or through the efforts of other NASCafe crew members. Now we have a range of options for students to try at affordable prices.”
NASCafe provides opportunities for students to learn barista and hospitality skills while they earn and complete their senior secondary education.
“It’s fun and you get to learn many useful skills that can help you secure your first job,” says Nicholas.
Nicholas hopes that NASCafe will continue to supply products from the Food and Hospitality class or partner with a local vendor in the community.
“I think NASCafe has come a long way from its beginnings, and it will be interesting to see its growth this year,” says Nicholas.
