Northern Adelaide Senior College’s Integrated Studies students celebrate Harmony Week by hosting lunchtime activities in honor of multiculturalism and inclusion last Wednesday.

“It’s a day we’re we see how diverse we really are,” says Jack S., Integrated Studies student.

Featuring food shaped as mythical creatures, a playlist of popular multicultural songs and images, a wishing tree, displays and board games, students were invited to have fun and connect.

“The class brainstormed lots of ideas and everyone came up with what they’d like to contribute,” says Sam White, Integrated Studies teacher.

“So everyone did something quite different. Therefore, we have information posters, displays, someone wanted to cook food, somebody wanted to organize games and create this amazing wishing tree.

“Everyone just pooled their efforts and here we have it.”

Attendees enjoyed the atmosphere and thought that the Integrated Studies students did splendidly for Harmony Day.

“It’s good. All for it,” says Lacie S.

“I support it,” agrees Kira C.

“I think they’ve done really well,” says Sam, proud of her Integrated Studies students.

“Some students had difficulty with getting here every week and that impacted on what they could do, but we all pooled together and they did finish what they wanted to do, so I think it’s been rather lovely.”
