NASC student behind-the-scenes at Salisbury Fringe Carnival
Salisbury Fringe Carnival was the perfect opportunity for Northern Adelaide Senior College Certificate III Academy of Game, Film and Animation student to get behind-the-scenes in filming the show’s hottest acts.
“I love fancy cameras. I like the picture that can be recorded and shown to people later on,” says Aiden L., who filmed at the Fringe from Saturday.
“I was behind both the PTZ Camera, which is a remote control camera from inside a room, and a handheld camera that was taken outside.
“I helped out at this event last year. It’s amazing. It’s not every day that you get to use a remote controlled camera as well experience the things you get to experience when you do onsite.”
Salisbury Fringe Carnival was a day full of free activities and performances designed to bring the community together at the Salisbury Community Hub.
“It was the street performers that were performing outside that were mesmerising,” says Aiden.
“The Fringe Festival in Salisbury had numerous acts from musicians, magicians and street performers.”
Aiden heard about the opportunity from AGFA teachers Toby Fogarty and Ben Ryder who said that it would be good experience as part of his Community Studies A subject.
“Because of COVID last year I unfortunately couldn’t complete the outside practical work. I did fall behind but having Ben and Toby picking me up, and everyone else up, has been amazing,” says Aiden.
“At NASC you get to experience and do things that you don’t necessarily do outside of school and there’s a lot of opportunities that you can get from working outside.
“Personally I think NASC has great opportunities but you need to actively pursue those opportunities.”
