Level up Graphic Design at NASC
At Northern Adelaide Senior College, you’ll learn classic design theory in our popular Graphic Design and Communication course.
What you might not realise is that the course aims to teach you so much more.
“I chose Graphic Design because I’m an artist that is always looking to improve my skills in different forms of media, and I thought Graphic Design was a good class for that,” says April O., studying year 11 at NASC.
“Learning something new is always pretty fun and it’s not the most complicated thing to learn and get into – it’s definitely something fun you can just jump into and give it a go,” agrees Nicholas H., a graphic design student finishing his portfolio on music art.
The class is currently completing their individual portfolios for assessment and learning mapping techniques using Adobe Creative Suite.
Dale B., studying year 12 at NASC says that the social aspect of the class has been enjoyable and he’s learnt new skills to complement his existing knowledge.
“If you like analysing posters, or game art boxes, or anything that requires any sort of planning when making an image, this course would suit you more than something like VFX or AGFA because it’s more of the creation of a still image than the creation of an animation or game,” says Dale.
NASC’s Graphic Design and Communication course can adapt to help you meet competencies within the course whilst you pursue your artistic interests.
“I thought the course would be rigid to what the teacher wants but it’s been very good. I can put what I like and feel. It’s my piece not what the teacher wants,” says Michelle B., studying Graphic Design to complement her studies with North of the Silk Road.
Elijah D., who prefers traditional art, realised that his skills could be easily adapted to Graphic Design using Adobe and the WACOM Tablet.
“We figured that my interest is in the drawing and art side so Dani has helped me change what I’m kind of doing,” says Elijah D.
“It’s been interesting and fun and something I’ve always wanted to try.”
“I think Dani is a really good teacher, she always keeps us on our work and teaches us new skills whether it’s on paper or computer,” smiles April.
“Dani is really good, she’s very helpful and easy to get along with which is nice,” agrees Nicholas.
