Christmas at North of the Silk Road Market
Nothing speaks Christmas at Northern Adelaide Senior College than the bi-annual Christmas Market hosted by North of the Silk Road students in Term 4.
Featuring bath and body products, clothing and macramé plant hangings created by Stage I and Stage II students throughout the semester, the market was able to raise $717 profit last Tuesday.
“I think it went pretty good. We had quite a few customers and quite a lot of things sold as well,” says Lili C., Stage II NOTSR student.
“I think it went ok, but it wasn’t like the first one where we did it on the rooftop, this one was quiet. Only the people who knew us had come,” reveals Sara L., Stage II NOTSR student.
Sally Bain, North of the Silk Road teacher is proud of how her students completed their year as a success with their Christmas market.
“The students had made many different products, which again created interest,” says Sally.
“Perhaps because of the time of the year, with exams approaching, it was quieter.
“But they got the layout well. It was good to have the in and out exits and the displays were good.”
Sally has enjoyed teaching this year’s NOTSR cohort and hopes for the best for her students in the new year.
“My Stage II students are wonderful and they’re all finished now and my Stage I students are coming along nicely. A few of them are coming back next year to do Stage II, so that’s good to see.”
“It feels good to finish. It’s been a long journey,” says Lili.
“I feel accomplished,” agrees Sara.
